Stop, Drop and Roll :: December 2007

By Andrew Burnham - December 18, 2007

Roll
When you have stopped your own reactive patterns by directly facing what is going on and dropped any unnecessary dwelling then maybe there is some action to take and maybe there isn’t. Now that you have accepted your annoyance, agitation or whatever is going on in you and around you, your actions will be more decisive and creative. You can now move on.

In the case of my client, she found herself concentrating more on finding a solution to the customer’s concerns, and less on how they should be behaving. What a relief this is. She also discovered that the behaviour of rude, upset and annoying people has very little to do with her at all. We’ll discuss the importance of not assuming that it is all about you in future articles.
